Turn Them Over!

I'm sorry it's so late. I just got to my room from working since 9. But I just want to ask you two things: will you turn over your burdens to God and let Him win the battle for you? And 2: will you rest on your faith to make it through? Yes times will get hard and life will have challenges but are you strong enough to see it through? God will give you the desires of your heart! He equipped us to do all things! He will give you wisdom and guidance. He will deliver you from your enemies and from evil. Remember who you serve! You can make it but turn them over!! (Phi 4:13, 2 Tim 4:18, John 15:7, Psalm 37:4, 1 John 4:4, Isa 58:11, James 1:5, 1 Pt 1:14, Mat 11:28)

What is Prosperity?

3 John 1:2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth.

Genesis 39:2,3
The Lord was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. 3 When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did...

What is prosperity? Webster's defines it as: the condition of being successful or thriving especially economic well-being. I venture forward to say that it isn't just a financial thing. Look at the verse from 3 John--it mentions your soul and health prospering as well. And the key to these things is walking in God's righteousness and being obedient.

Look at Psalm 1:3-- He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. And Job 36:11--If they obey and serve him, they will be blessed with prosperity throughout their lives. All their years will be pleasant.

God will bless and prosper you if you obey Him! So in order to have prosperity you must be obedient...think about it... Whether it means standing still or stepping out on faith, prosperity is sure to follow--totally!

Look at this verse: Psalm 84:11 states "For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right." So if we do what He wants us to do, we can live great and go on to do great things!!

Much love and affection,

Daily Devotion

Afternoon and great day!

I want to give you some encouragement today! God loves you and He is amazing! In my love journey, I have truly learned the importance of forgiveness. I beg God to help me forget the hurts and wounds of the past but I learned today that like everything in life forgiveness is a process. We must first take down the wall of hurt and pain. God softens our hearts to give us the capacity to forgive. I say be open to His plan and remember that you are given the tools through Christ to overcome and do all things.(Phi 4:3, John 15:7)

Be encouraged and open your hearts!

Love you!!!

Time to Grow Up!!

As I scrolled down looking at some of my friends' FB statuses, one stuck out. My friend said she wondered why people say they want to change but aren't willing to do what they need to do to change.. Then my devotion spoke of growing up spiritually.. And I said God I can't ignore this! There are so many things I want to change and I know I haven't done anything to put them into action! We have to grow up people! 1 Corinthians 13:11 says "When I was a child, I spoke as a
child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things."
Growing in our faith and Godly love cannot be done if we are still living in our teenage years.

I read something that said that 95% of our Christian walk is maturing. Start maturing today! Start cleaning out closets! Start throwing out the old and filling that space with the new! Now you have a choice: to recognize areas in your life where you can grow up in every way imaginable or keep your Peter Pan complex and remain a child forever!

Here are more scriptures on growth: Colossians 1:10, Matthew 5:48, 1
Cor 3:6, Proverbs 11:28, Psalm 92:13-14, Colossians 1:6, Mark 4:8, 2
Cor 10:15.

Peace, God's grace, and blessings!

Daily Devotion

Afternoon! Hope your day is going great!

Dealing with Pain

In life there is going to be a considerable amount of pain along the road. Sometimes that pain can be so overwhelming that you must cry. It will seem like there is nothing to get rid of it. People can't help and it seems like nothing works. I cannot give you an answer of how to alleviate it because your pain may be physical, emotional, or spiritual; it may be self-inflicted or put on you at the hands of others. I can only tell you that you cannot dwell on it or hold on to it because of the promises in God's word. I can only tell you that God will give you the tools to get through it or He will carry you Himself.

Here are some scriptures to help you:

Philippians 1:18-26
2 Corinthians 12:7-10
Psalm 103:1-4--particularly verse 3
Romans 12:11-14
Matthew 26:39
John 16:33
1 Peter 5:6-11
Hebrews 4:15,16

Lastly, Philippians 4:13--I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. And Matthew 11:28-30: If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. 29 Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. 30 This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light.

Please be encouraged and don't give up!

Expansion on longer Passages from today's devotion

Here are the scriptures from today's devotion:

Philippians 1:18-26
18...I will keep on being glad, 19because I know that your prayers and the help that comes from the Spirit of Christ Jesus will keep me safe. 20I honestly expect and hope that I will never do anything to be ashamed of. Whether I live or die, I always want to be as brave as I am now and bring honor to Christ.
21If I live, it will be for Christ, and if I die, I will gain even more. 22I don't know what to choose. I could keep on living and doing something useful. 23It is a hard choice to make. I want to die and be with Christ, because that would be much better. 24-25But I know that all of you still need me. That's why I am sure I will stay on to help you grow and be happy in your faith. 26Then, when I visit you again, you will have good reason to take great pride in Christ Jesus because of me.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10
9"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

Psalm 103:1-4
Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.

Matthew 11:28-30
28If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. 29Take the yoke [f] I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. 30This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light.

Hebrews 4:15,16
15Jesus understands every weakness of ours, because he was tempted in every way that we are. But he did not sin! 16So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved kindness, and we will find help.

1 Peter 5:6-11
6Be humble in the presence of God's mighty power, and he will honor you when the time comes. 7God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him.
8Be on your guard and stay awake. Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion, sneaking around to find someone to attack. 9But you must resist the devil and stay strong in your faith. You know that all over the world the Lord's followers are suffering just as you are. 10But God shows undeserved kindness to everyone. That's why he appointed Christ Jesus to choose you to share in his eternal glory. You will suffer for a while, but God will make you complete, steady, strong, and firm. 11God will be in control forever! Amen.

John 16:33
33I have told you this, so that you might have peace in your hearts because of me. While you are in the world, you will have to suffer. But cheer up! I have defeated the world.

Matthew 26:39
39Jesus walked on a little way. Then he knelt with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, don't make me suffer by having me drink from this cup. [e] But do what you want, and not what I want."

Romans 12:11-14
11Never give up. Eagerly follow the Holy Spirit and serve the Lord. 12Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying. 13Take care of God's needy people and welcome strangers into your home.
14Ask God to bless everyone who mistreats you. Ask him to bless them and not to curse them.

Scriptures on Guidance

This is not today's devotion but I wanted to post some scriptures on guidance... If he brought you to it, He will lead you through it!

Romans 12:1-2
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Psalm 32:8-10
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you."
Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.
Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him."

Philippians 4:4-7
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Can you hear God?

"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, you will hear a voice
saying, "This is the road! Now follow it." Isaiah 30:21

Also check out Hebrews 3:7-8, Rev 3:20, Psalm 95:7, Psalm 68:33, and
Luke 9:35.

When we gave our lives to Christ, we learned that we can go to God in
all situations and ask for help, guidance, advice etc. God wants us
to trust and lean on Him and only Him so we must listen for His
leading. We have to pay attention because God speaks to us in
numerous ways--through others, through a song, our thoughts, dreams,
things we read, see, and even through speaking directly to us.

But trust and know, we can be certain that He hears us and will
respond because just as we see and hear so does God! (Psalm 94:9). We
must cultivate that ear for God. How do I do that, you say? Pray! In
1 John 5:14 it says that God will hear our prayers when we ask for
what pleases Him. Find scriptures to support what you need and
continually bring it to God thanking Him for it. By applying it, God
will speak to you and bring you such joy!(Romans 2:13, James 1:25,
Luke 18:1-8)

Be blessed and you are always in my prayers!

Daily Devotion part 2

Here is one other thing:

Take a sheet of paper and draw a line down the middle. Make a list of
all the things that you need help with on one side and on the opposite
side find scriptures that help with that. If you need help give me a
call. Also make a list of your strengths and "gifts". Remember that
you should not necessarily focus all of your energy on correcting your
faults but making your strengths stronger. Recite the scriptures you
wrote to help embed the right thinking in your mind and give God the
reins to correct them!!!

Finding your purpose in life!

Many of us long to know what we are here on earth for. What is it that
we are tasked to accomplish in life and when do we start. It is not a
self-centered purpose, I'll tell you that! In my own opinion our
purpose is to use the spiritual and physical gifts along with our
talents to bring others to Christ.(Eph 4:11-15, Romans 12:3-8, 1 Peter
4:8-11). Most importantly it is reiterated several times that we are
to love one another.(1 John 4:7-21, 1 Corinthians 13...the whole New
Testament lol!) So combining the gifts and talents you have with the
love of God you can only do GREAT things!

For example, I know that I give, help, discern, seek knowledge and
study, teach and I believe have a call for either evangelism or
ministry. Because I know the above I know I am going to be working in
some way to help others and get them to Christ. Everyone knows I
desperately want to go back to school for counseling and will probably
work on it in a church. Combining that with the love I now have from
God, I will use my gifts that I recognize and will receive to draw
others to Christ through ministering to their needs.

Yes we are to live life and have joy(1 Thess 5:17) but we always have
a purpose! Live life with that God kind of love that can forgive
anything and keep on loving until your purpose is fulfilled!! Trust
that it's all going to work out! (Romans 8:28)

I love you and I'm here always!

Keep the Faith

Hey!

Be blessed today and don't lose sight of the goal! For in Matthew
11:28-30 Jesus says "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Knowing this reassures me that I can make it because I can give
everything to Jesus when it gets too hard. When deadlines at work are
bearing down on you and people are aggravating you, take a second and
rest easy because Jesus has your back! Ask anything in His name
because Jesus seeks to bring glory to our heavenly father(John 14:3)!
Ask for strength, because you can do all things through Christ who
strengthens you! (Philippians 4:13). Ask for wisdom, because in James
1:5 the Bible says "If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask
of the giving God who gives to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly,
without reproaching or fault-finding, and it will be given him."
Ask
for guidance--Isaiah 58:11 tells us that the Lord will guide us
continually!

Be encouraged and rest assured because you are blessed! "What, then,
shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be
against us?...No, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him who loved us."

Daily Devotion!

Confessing for a Better Tomorrow

I decided that I wanted to stop worrying and complaining about the different things that plague me. I was a worrier--And part of that is attributed to thinking so much--remember the saying study long, you study wrong? My personal variation is you think too long and too much you confuse right with wrong--and you end up with a headache or heartache. I decided that I would have to reinforce myself with positive affirmations each day for everything I worried about--my future job, my relationships, my view of myself, and plenty of other things. I have a calendar reminder that tells me that God is in control like 10 times a day. We cannot allow ourselves to be consumed with worry--look at what Jesus says in Matthew 6: 25-34...specifically Matthew 6:34: "Don't worry about tomorrow. It will take care of itself. You have enough to worry about today." After reading that entire passage, you should really look at the important things and focus on life.

However, God gave us the Word---His law---with specific decrees that guarantee us what we want if we believe it. We can confess that God's will be done in our lives. We can confess healthiness, wealth, and life if we receive them. We can truly make a change in our own outlook on life if we recite these words and pray each day. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing---pray and pray and pray until we pray again. Confession, to me, is the same way. Let me clarify that. I personally believe that we can change our situations in life with choices and confession allows us to align the choice we make with God's word. We can confess "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"--Philippians 4:13 and then we are to put that in action and go forth and do all things! I take from those words that Christ gives me strength to overcome all things--worrying about a project at work, having to deal with someone I don't like, making sure my financial needs are met. If we are sick, we confess and profess healing over ourselves. As long as you believe it, it will eventually be. See 1 Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:5, Psalm 118:17. Now, there are some things that may not happen, but we have to accept that as God's will and something for which we have no control. But to defeat the doubt that arises, remember that God will use the good and bad in our lives for His glory. (Psalm 37:4, John 15:7, 2Timothy 4:18, Romans 8:28)

In connection to a previous devotion, in accepting and coming to terms with these things, I learned that everything that has happened to me will bring glory to God. He used my illness and surgery to touch other people. He used my very being here today to touch people. He will use whatever situation in your life to make sure that you know He is Lord over all things. With that said, confess health, wealth, deliverance, strength, prosperity, guidance and more into your tomorrow and don't worry about it!

Love you~

Book Suggestions

Hello,

I have read many books! I love to read, it's so relaxing and I have a thirst for knowledge so I will read just about anything. I have read some very important books since January, and I would like to share some of those titles with you:
1. Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen (I might go back and read that one again hehe)
2. Holding on to your faith even...When God Doesn't Make Sense by Dr. James Dobson (probably the best book I have read thus far and it has made a critical change in my thinking)
3. The Successful Family (I didn't read the entire book because everything does not apply to me but its good) by Dr. Creflo Dollar
4. Love, Live, and Enjoy Life by Dr. Creflo Dollar (this one is great too; I'm a work in progress)
5. Purpose-Driven Life by Rick Warren (will be reading this one again starting today!)

Daily devotion

Letting it all go!

Great day!

Do you believe that we are supposed to be happy? Yes there will be and is strife in our lives and as Christians that is something we are going to have to face. But Jesus died to carry that burden!!! (John 3:16, Romans 6-8, Galatians 3) We are not to go this road alone! Let it all go! Going through your life believing that you have to do it all alone is not the way. God will place people before you and with you to help you be that great person He sees. See Matthew 5:12: Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. (KJV)

Now I know that life has thrown you some serious problems but realize and KNOW two things:

1. God did not do it! Sin was released when Adam bit that apple! We are born into sin--along with sin comes all the negative consequences associated with it! This was one of the hardest things I had to realize after I got sick. I was trying to figure out why! What had I done? Some things just happen because of that first sin and things that happened before you were born.

See John 10:10:The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

See Genesis 3: 6-19--Tells of the consequences of the First Sin.

However, Jesus died to destroy this curse. See Galatians 3:13-14: 13 But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”[g] 14 Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised[h] Holy Spirit through faith.

2. You must not blame God and if you do forgive Him! The Lord does not steal or destroy. He loves us and wants the best for us. He may allow us to go through things for reasons we do not yet understand but at the end of the day, it is in preparation for the battle ahead. I am guilty of this. When I realized it I started crying(yes I'm EMOTIONAL--I have no problem crying it's very cleansing--and He shows me what He wants to fix and what I need to let go of) because in
understanding that some things are just not in our control, I realized that God equipped me to handle them all in spite of how the situation looked. See Isaiah 55:9: As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. My process prepared me for being sick, the sickness and back and forth to the doctor before my surgery helped me release it to Him and He gave me peace, and now I give Him everything especially my future which is seeming kind of blurry because I know His plan is greater than I can ever fathom. I do understand that only God can change things and people so I must give them all to God---totally. True growth and progress comes only after we step away from a situation that we cannot control and allow God and His Word to work the situation and work on us. (Isaiah 55:9, 1Peter 2:24)

Give it all to Him and drop your dirty laundry off to Him to be cleaned and forgiven! Give God the authority to elevate you to where He wants you to be. Be blessed and encouraged! I love you!

Recognizing if confusion is your reality...

Sorry for missing yesterday! Please forgive me.

Everyone that knows me should remember that I always used to say I was a realist. I looked at what was happening in my everyday life and then consulted God which was the absolute wrong way to go. The things that were happening were just a "part of reality" and I sometimes had no
control.

I'm going to stop there and tell another story. A former minister friend of mine and I had a conversation where I said my "part of reality" crap. Then something dawned on me. As Christians, God's word is reality. Our application or lack thereof create the world we live in today. When I choose my own way instead of God's I allow confusion to distort and deter the reality that God wants to come to pass for us. I, not anyone else, has control over the decisions I make. When I relinquish control to the devil, that part of reality becomes something else that wasn't t supposed to happen. When we pray we should ask that God direct our paths, and that His will comes to pass in our lives. That way the devil cannot deceive us and steal our joy. I had to admit to myself that yes, I do not entirely have control sometimes but I have the right to choose to follow God or go another way. Fortunately for us, He gives us clarity and peace when we yield to His way instead of allowing our wants to create confusion. Isaiah 26:3 tells us that the Lord will keep us in perfect peace when we keep out minds on Him. He will help you because He loves us that much! Stay in constant, unceasing prayer and that confusion will disperse!

For me, confirmation usually comes in threes and lately He has been yelling it at me in multiples! Be patient! Be filled with God's
love! I love you! Be blessed today!

Bible Translations

I personally like the English Standard Version, Contemporary English Version, Amplified, and New Living Translation versions. The CEV makes it plain as day!

Devotion for today--I had to pray on this one!!

The Point of No Return

We all have days when we just get fed up. We get tired of craziness
and erratic things happening to us. We get tired of crying, we get
tired of being mistreated, we get tired of feeling alone, empty,
brokenhearted... Whatever it may be, we all reach that point of
ICantTakeItAnymore-Dom. At these points the devil ramps up the attacks
and increases the voices of doubt or discouragement. We must recognize
these situations and call on God to guide us. We must trust that God,
if not ourselves or no one else is going to guide us through. Many
nights and days I have cried to no listening ears. I had to drag
myself from that point and pray to God for forgiveness. It hurts to
be at those points, but the devil doesn't care! He wants us to die and
go to hell for ETERNAL TORTURE! It's at those low points that God
wants us to turn to Him and those He sends to us for comfort and
guidance. Get out of that place! No defeat! No pity! Yes it's okay
to vent about it as long as you don't get back to that place. You open
yourself up for attacks and let yourself fall into temptation. We are
conquerors and rulers! Please look at 2 Cor 12:10 (my favorite
verse), 1 Peter 4:12-14, and James 2:14-26. Be blessed today!

"The joy of the Lord is your strength।" Nehemiah 8:10

**Posting the verses for convenience:

2 Corinthians 12:10:

That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

1 Peter 4:12-14:

12 Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. 13 Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.
14 So be happy when you are insulted for being a Christian, for then the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you.

James 2:14-26:

14 What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? 15 Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?
17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
18 Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”
19 You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. 20 How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?
21 Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. 23 And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God. 24 So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.
25 Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. 26 Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.
