Speaking to the Taboo Elephants in the Room

“Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight. Whatever you have whispered in private rooms will be shouted from the housetops.” Luke 12:3

Hello everybody! I hope you are having a great day. Today is World AIDS Day. And I miss my school, Clark. There was always some awareness program about the effect of HIV/AIDS in our community. I have increasingly noticed how our traditional churches and even in our households that there are still some things that are not talked about. How can you ignore something that affects your brother and sister? How can you not care? Increasingly our country has become over the last 10 years the haven for political correctness and that includes ignoring very important issues. That’s not of God! Jesus did not do that!

In fact, Jesus went out and healed the lepers.(Mark 1:40) He went and ate with the sick, the poor, and the sinners.(Matthew 26:6-7) Matter of fact, everyone Jesus healed was sick, everyone Jesus delivered had a demon or something causing them ailment! Lepers were outcasts of society; much like our own AIDS stricken people. He communed with prostitutes, adulterers, and many people of questionable character. (Luke 7:37) But at the end of the day, they were sinners, just like you and me. Quit ignoring them, and spread knowledge. Be like Jesus who loves us all.

“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:9-10
